The AFPMBAI, the largest mutual benefit association in the country today, has reached the P10-billion mark in assets, achieving its vision one year ahead of its self-imposed deadline.
To commemorate this historical occasion, six brand new ambulances were donated to the AFP: two for GHQ, two for the Philippine Army and one each for the Philippine Navy and Philippine Air Force. The PNP, BFP, BJMP and PCG will also receive donations of one ambulance each.
AFPMBAI President BGen Ricardo C Morales AFP (Ret), FICD turned over the ambulances to the GHQ, represented by the AFP Deputy Chief of Staff LtGen Anthony J Alcantara AFP; to the PA, represented by Vice Commander, MGen Renato A David AFP; to the PAF, represented by former Air Staff Chief and new CG, PAF MGen Lauro Catalino G dela Cruz AFP and to the PN, by Flag Officer in Command VAdm Alexander P Pama AFP.
In a statement, President Morales said the achievement of the company’s vision of being a P10-billion Association not only ensures the continued and sustainable growth of the Association but is also geared towards plowing back more welfare benefits to the members and their families.
Already in its initial phase of implementation is the launching of the Social Services Program, which intends to assist members in four general areas, namely, education, health and medical, livelihood, and donations. This shall serve part of the Association’s Corporate Social Responsibility.
"AFPMBAI will embark on another chapter of its history. As our uniformed men and women continue to risk their lives for our country, AFPMBAI will be an uplifting force in their lives. This will be the new vision that will guide the Association in its plans and programs starting today," added President Morales.
In celebration of reaching the P10-billion vision, a simple program starting with a thanksgiving mass was held on December 19, 2011 at the AFPMBAI home office in Quezon City. The event simultaneously took place in its 35 offices nationwide.
