The Armed Forces and Police Mutual Benefit Association, Inc. held its 2017 Annual General Membership Meeting last April 29, 2017. Presided by the AFPMBAI Chairman of the Board of Trustees and AFP Chief of Staff, Gen Eduardo M Año AFP, the membership meeting was attended by regular members from AFP, PNP, BJMP and PCG.

Some of the highpoints during the meeting were the ratification of the Acts and Resolutions of the Board of Trustees, Corporate Officers and Management; 2016 company performance report of the AFPMBAI President and CEO and the election of the members of the Board of Trustees.

During the membership meeting, then AFPMBAI Acting President and CEO, RAdm Primitivo P. Gopo AFP (Ret) was elected and pronounced as the Association’s new President and CEO and Executive Board.

Moreover, Head, Sales and Operations Group and Chief Operating Officer, RAdm Philip L Cacayan AFP (Ret); and the new Head, Corporate Services Group and Chief Corporate Services Officer were also elected as AFPMBAI Corporate Officers.

As General Año commenced the meeting, he thanked AFPMBAI for creating and sustaining products and programs that cater to the best interests of the members and their families.

“Maraming, maraming salamat sa inyong walang sawang suporta at pag bibigay ng halaga sa mga sakripisyo ng ating mga pulis at sundalo. Ang mga pag hihirap na kanilang kinahaharap sa pag-tupad ng tungkulin ay nagiging magaan sapagkat nararamdaman nila na ang taumbayan na kanilang pinag-sisilbihan ay pinahahalagahan din sila. Nawa’y hindi magmaliw ang ating pagkaka-isa sa panahon ng kaginhawaan ng ating mga lingkod-bayan.” He said.

Meanwhile, the 2016 company performance report, authored by the former President and CEO, MGen Edgardo Rene C Samonte AFP (Ret) was delivered by Admiral Gopo.

Admiral Gopo reported a registered consolidated assets of P18.35 B that is nearly 10% higher than P16.70B in 2015. This means AFPMBAI stays atop among other mutual benefit associations in the Philippines in terms of assets.

More than the financial achievements of the Association, the President’s report boasted various Social Services Programs that help uplift the lives of the members, their families and their communities.

“For our mandate of “performing welfare services vital to the morale of our members”, we have continued giving back to our members in the various branches of service, through the different projects on education, health, livelihood, general welfare and community development of the Social Services Program Committee.” Admiral Gopo mentioned.
